This has a similar effect on me to the one you say my 360-degree panoramas give you. Hard to get my mind around it... I notice the reflections, then try to see where the surface of the water is, and whether all the stalks I am looking at are above it or under it. Perplexing... There also seems to be some dust or something on the surface of the water so that it can show a shadow. Shadows on water are also rather rare. Altogether a fascinating image, Chris!

Chris beautiful image. I think the patterns provide a great backdrop to your subject. The highlights seems a little hot. With a little Photoshop work, if you're open to it, you could burn the highlights to help focus the viewers eye even more on your subject. Very striking image.
