Hi, Sergio. Boy, do I have good news for you! Do a Google search for "Power Retouche" (with the final "e") and then look for the plug-in called Studio Black/White. It may seem a bit daunting at first with all the options, but there is an EXCELLENT tutorial. You can use either Anselm Adams' system of zones (if you're familiar with that) or just get it to emulate various emulsions and papers. I often selecte Kodak Tri-X with a yellow filter, for instance. You don't have to buy the set of plug-ins (although I must say it's a fantastic bargain if you do and there are lots of other great plug-ins among them--my favourite is dynamic range compression, which brings up shadow details without burning out highlights). You can try it free but it will add funny little logotypes to your image. Good enough to know whether you will like it. Try it! Er, you do know that you will need either PhotoShop or PaintShopPro to run this plugin, don't you? i.e., it's an add-on to an existing program not a stand-alone...

Hi Roger! As a non-PS expert I've only desaturated it. I'm lookin for a plugin to solve the problem, can you tell me which one do you use? Many thanks for your comment and your advice, much appreciated. Best regards!

Conversion to B&W can be difficult... this one needs maybe a little stronger contrast, a bit more detail in the trees that have come out black here, and a longer range of intermediat tones to bring out the details of the clouds. What did you use to do the conversion? The simplest (but often least effective) is just to desaturate the image. PhotoShop experts play with levels. I just use a plugin that does most of the work for me.

Hi Sergio, I think I prefer the color overall, but the b/w has it's own appeal too. Nice job of the disproportion.

NIce composition dear Sergio, but I prefer the colored version because it was well detailed. More tiny detail, the b/w version too grey and without fine detail. But I like the both. Well presented idea. Well done dear friend!
Have a nice day! Robert

I don't know which one I like more, Sergio. Normally I prefer the color version of pictures, but here the b/w is very fine. I tried to adjust the levels a bit and attach my version. What do you think?

All the interesting show is in a very interesting baseline. The sky mass constantly keeps the eye away from that. I love this continuous come back to the base. Excellent.
