Excellent us of highlight color...you're right about the DOF but it does make it more interesting...keeps your eye on the picture for longer. I maybe would have changed the crop to landscape perhaps...

It's just amazing how something so simple like these matches makes for such a beautiful photograph.
The light you set up is perfect for the shot (thanks for sharing it with us).
The frame that you have greated with the black edges and neonish blue is brillant.

I love the framing! I really like the concept and colors. I think the light is a tad on the hot side; I?d soften that up a bit. I?d like to see a little bit more angle in the composition also, maybe closer to a 45 deg diagonal. I?d like to see a deeper depth of field in this shot as well. I think it?s a great shot though, I gave it a 6 but, I would have gave it a 7 if it was a little bit deeper dof.

Yes sometimes macro is difficult on the F828, but Sony do have a pretty good macro attachment that does help quite a bit.
Your image although is superb. I love the colours and the lighting. Well done.

Nice shot!!! Super crop, excellent composition, beautiful blue color!!!! The shallow DOF is great, but you should've focussed on the middle one... then this would've been a perfect photo... Just build your setup again and take some more shots with different camera settings... that's the beauty of digital and a static object.... try, try again, until it's right!!! Good luck.... ;-D!!!

This is simply done, but SO crisply captured.
Your patience and staying with it until it matched your internal vision CLEARLY paid off!
Your sharpness would have improved if you had gone into aperature mode, and cranked it up to around f8.
