About My intention was not to produce a macro (there are way, way better macros on this site), but to capture the magical feeling of light trapped in these hundreds of miniature "lenses."

Thanks very much Gyuri, I'm trying to play the shadows to achieve the impression of depth in some pictures, or flatten others to look like a pattern, depending on what they're closest to in the origina. I really appreciate your nice comments :) Regards, Ina

Hi again, Ina! Ilike your new dew series very much. I don't want to repeat myself, but on these images you yet another time achieve a very sensual effect, the leaves are almost touchable, quasi-3D, one doesn't feel any distance from the object, the viewer doesn't only see those leaves but as if could touch them as well. Best regards, Gyuri

Woah! You have succeeded SO very admirably here in your attempt to capture the trapped light, Ina. But like it or not, you have also produced a stupendous macro. And also a compelling still life.

The tiny veining and texture of the leaf as seen both magnified through the droplets and also outside the droplets is mezmerizingly facinating. I'm just staring and staring at this thing. The lighting is absolutely gorgeous! I think the dark background is helping the cause here too. Great colors and sharpness as well, of course. And you got the exposure of this perfect. I am blown away!

Thanks Andrzej :) Ha-ha! Go ahead! These are moments when I wish I had a 20MP camera. My Panasonic doesn't do RAW, it would have been much better, a lot of the definition is lost in the JPEG's, but I tried to salvage some detail, with lots of compromises in contrast and texture.

Ina Nicolae Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/5/2005
Thanks Kathy, I have tried so many versions of this one, it drove me crazy. I wanted the light and contrast, but then I lost some definition in the droplets; then I wanted more color, and I lost some of the light, there seemed to be an impossible goal, so I tried a compromise. My hard drive is packed with numerous versions of this one. Some pictures are just more difficult than others. In the end I asked myself "what is more important? Color or light?" And it was light. I have no special macro lenses, and this is an entire field in which so many people excel, I wouldn't even call mine "macros." Looking forward to yours! Ina

Ina, looking at your new ones (postings) I feel thirsty for water, for the lights and for the color tones. I'll sip all those nectars from your frames leaving nothing to attract anybody anytime. Do you want me to do this? Sweet stuff. n.j

This one is truly my favourite. I can actually see the veins of the leaves magnified through the droplets of water. it's amazing just how much clarity you and detail you got in these shots Ina. Great work and you really ahve achieved your obective here. Cheers - Ann :)

I think this is my favorite so far, Ina! Great focus on the drops. I was out shooting a few shots of water drops this morning. I don't know it they amounted to anything, but you have my inspired! Well done!

A very arresting waterdrop photo. It's wonderful how the drops bring out the texture of the leaves, isn't it. The lighting is extraordinary too. Well done.
