About Took with a digital camera. Set it for night photos and snaped pictures one after the other continuously aiming at the sky. Out of 210 photos I luckily got 4 lighting shots. If anyone has a better way with digital, let me know.

Thanks Ann for your coments. Greatly welcomed after looking at your photo pages. Excelent work, of course Australia (will get there some day I hope) gives you alot of oppertunities, right? Like I told Chris, not much time and very lucky.

Wow! I admire your patience - 4 out of 210. Still, you got a great shot.

Check out http://www.weather-photography.com/techniques.php?cat=lightning&page=lightning for some tips.

I've never shot lightning but I thought the idea was to mount the camera onto a tripod and leave the shutter open on bulb for a good few minutes or until you know you captured the desired amount of lightning. Of course I'm probably wrong cause, as I said...I've never done it. You've done a nice job of this though. Sure you can clone out the house blur if you want. I enjoy the lines of the house and silhouette of the trees framing the lightning. Great capture. Cheers - Ann :)

Nice capture Bob, lightning is very difficult to get. I see a little movement when looking by the house, see a faint outline in the sky. Great shot though.
