Given the time of day and location of the sun, I think I got off easy. Miramar is laid out to be unfriendly to photographers. So you just go with what you have to work with and hope for the best. A motor drive helps too!

Now THAT's what I thought I was seeing in your other photo, George. Bit different from the de Havilland Tiger Moths I used to fly in the Air Training Corps. I know where you can fly faster than sound in a real-live fighter! Expensive though. It'll set you back US$20,000!

Yup it was a tough day to shoot these guys wasn't it. I'm having all kinds of issues lightening the planes in my shots from the show.
This Fluer de (whatever they call it) is a pretty wicked formation. The shot kind of scares me as I have the same exact shot but from a few chalets down...
It is a good catch and a toughy to get at the right moment.
