This is a great picture Gary! I appreciate the ways the colours work to seperate the enviroment from the vistor (the kayak). There is a deep feeling of isolation in this image. The composition, the misty shoreline, the flecks of snow on the kayak - all work together to produce a strong image. The only thing I thought could be improved was the cropping - I felt there was a little too much space on the left side of the picture. I've attached a version cropped the way I think it looks best. Other than this minor suggestion I photo is superb.
Thanks for the comment on Thunderhead - do you know Saskatchewan's motto on our licence plates? "Land of the Living Skies" Scenes like the one in Thunderhead are a testament to the truth of that motto.

Hi Sharrie... well this picture was taken in the early evening probably between 8 and 9pm somewhere either in late Aug or early Sept. Nunavut is really an amazing place (a rather large place at that). I'd highly reccommend a trip there (or many trips!!) Cheers, Gary

Very moody image. The snow is a nice touch. I find the vignetting in the lower corners a little distracting. You have some very nice images of cold places. -- Naomi
