Indeed the contrast is so strong between this view and (for example) the first scenes of "Saving Private Ryan".
The place is so peaceful that one does need to visit the American Cemetery and Memorial in order to recall and get, a posteriori, a feeling of what the D-Day (and the following days) has (have) been...
