Phil-

Nice!

Here's a suggestion: Enlist a kid, a boy because of better arm strength, 13 or older because of longer attention span. Get a pail. Have him fill it about a third full of water and practice throwing a thin sheet of water across the pool. He needs to experiment with holding the pail at various different angles, and making the the water swirl as it leaves the pail. It is possible to throw a thin vertical sheet of water just a few feet in front of a model. I know because when I was a kid, a neighborhood pro glamor photog enlisted, and paid me to do just that, for maybe 500 shots in a row. Actually I threw the front wall of water and another kid threw water up the air behind the model. Sometimes the model's hand would contact the sheet of water and "cut" a streak in it, pretty cool effects. A shot or two was used in a magazine article, ... so long ago, I don't remember which one.

Still a nice shot. I remember seeing old 35 mm photos were a flash would capture something similar in sequence. Thanks for the tip.

Brian, thank you! To try and heep focus, I have the model stand and I frame and focus, then lock the focus on her shoulders. Then she leans forward (the distance to her shoulders does not change. I count to three and she comes up and flips her head all in one motion (the distance to her shoulder still doesn't change) That is the best way I know to do it!

Ron, thank you. She was able to flip enough water up with her hair to keep the line almost intact all the way around. i credit the model for this.
