You set up a photo session with your daughter as the subject.
You make sure that the lighting, the background and everything is OK.
You take a dozen shots with your expensive camera, with all its various attachments, from different heights and different angles, hoping to get the perfect "keeper" shot.
Then your wife comes along, takes a quick one with her point'n'click (OK, point-half-press'n'click, and she always forgets the half-press part) while you're doing what you're doing, and BAM!! blows all your work away with the result.
GRRRR!
(The guilty "point'n'click here is the Fuji F10 Zoom. I desaturated the (ISO 1600!) image, then used a tone curve in CPP to adjust the contrast to the way I like it).
