Thank you so much for your comment, and no i dont mind at all if you show me new ways on how to make a image better, i am here to learn. And I like your version of it as well. I will have to look into that program.

Hello Robert, you captured a 'intent' dog portrait, her eye(say so :) Given the choice of the two versions, I prefer the B&W....but then I'm a little bias! I hope you don't mind, I took your B&W into PS to see if a little more detail might be gained in the true blacks (round the neck). Instead of using PS's converts, I played in 'theimagefactory' filter specially made for colour converts to B&W. If you do a lot of B&W converts, its worth trying the free download trial. You'll find the filter gives a little more control then the standard PS supplies.

Hi Robert, I know this look well! This is not a look of aggression, but of happy restraint. I like the b/w better with the bricks. Focus is very good. Nice job! Susie

You caught another unique 'dog mood.' He looks sad and worried, and his ears are turned back as if he doesn't want to hear whatever, or 'whatever' is too loud. The photo tells a story. I frequently chose color for my favorite, but in this one the B&W gets the 'story' across better. The image is perfectly focused, and the illumination ideal: on his face. Yet I would have added a little more room in front and a little less neck (just my taste). You're getting good Robert... Your photos are high quality indeed! BTW, superb clone job. ..Gabi

Excellent dof Robert...and a really nice portrait...the focus and clarity are very good almost too good. I was going to say that maybe a large aperture would have blurred the background more, but you used an F/2.8....definitely large enough, so maybe next time get a little further away from the subject to blur the background there-by focusing all of the attention on your subject...you did a beautiful job with this, I like the colors, and that's a part of the problem too the colors compete just a tad...but they are nice, blurring would have helped that for sure, nice job on cloning, can't see that...still a wonderful portrait....your composition is very nice with a strong diagonal...very well done....Now the black and white is great too and in fact, you can see how well she stands out against the background because it's not competing...and it looks like a good gradation of greys in your black and white tones...beautiful work on both counts...well done...hugs...:):)
