Thanks Andre, yes that is true about the rocks they pick up from the bottom and carry them on there chests, sometimes they get confused and pick up other things, I have a shot of one holding a beer bottle, looks like he is drinking with the open end towards his mouth, I wanted to post it but the expsure was bad....

Hi Marcus,
Great picture of the Sea Otter. I know how hard it is to get a good picture of something like this. I have tried shooting muskrat, beaver and mink, all just getting out of the water or in water. Nothing worse than dark brown, wet, fur for making a lousy picture. I have a great shot of a mink with a small fish in his mouth, but I didn't want to post it because the quality of the exposure on the fur was so poor.
BTW I think these are the animals that swim on their backs and actually carry a small stone under their arms too break open shell fish and clams with. Sounds like an old wive's tail, but I think it is true.
