A wonderful chocolate box photo. Beautiful color and detail. Maybe not to have cut out his paw but love it. Not sure about Randy's crop I like them both.

OK, first let me say that this is impossibly cute, and that statement is to be applied to *all* the puppy shots in this series! :) Yeah, the one paw is cut off, but otherwise I love everything about this, including the subtle colors of the flowers and the soft shadows from the overcast lighting! Randy's crop works really well, I think, although I think I'd also take a little off the top to balance it... You're a strong woman to have done this shoot and not have come away with at least one of these little guys! :)

I love this, Gosh I keep trying to get away from my computer I really do have work to be done, but how can I when I see stuff like this. Kim this is adorable....I really like how you framed him with the tree branches, and I'm surprised that the flowers don't compete for the attention. I like the crop but I also like the original. I think the lighting is very good. I don't use film so I can't speak to that but I love what you did with this. Wonderful image, beautifully presented...Linda

I think there are a few things going against the colour of this image... first, shot in shade, giving a bluer tint, and second, the scanner seems to scan a little more on the blue side. Becky pointed that out as well and so I am working on trying to warm these up a little. Thanks for the comment.

Well, how cute is that! And already in the format for a calendar page too :-) I would maybe have expected a little more punch in the colors with that film? The nit would be the cut-off paw.

Kim,
I like both pictures from this series. Thought that the potted one is a better picture from the point of exposure, DOF and composition. But I like this one more because it looks more spontaneously shot that the potted one.

I'm not sure what his name is... I was just there to take pictures, not to take any puppies home (my two Goldens might get a little green-eyed!) Thanks so much for your comments!

Thanks Sai! I am still not a donor (bad Kim!) so I can only upload one a day... stretch it out and make people wait for it! *grin* I got onto the "excursion" by emailing a few breeders in my area and asking if I could come and take pictures of their puppies. In exchange I give them 10 4x6 pictures or 2 8x10. In two hours I burned through 3 rolls of film. I recommend it for anyone needing a day of smiles!

I like the crop Randy... thanks for posting it. It was an amazing experience to photograph 11 puppies all at once... had to do the "shuffle" to make sure that no little feets were stepped on!

Cute pup pic. Nice colors and setting. I'll look forward to seeing the whole gang. What fun to roll around on floor with 11 puppys! I think I would crop this a little closer,I enclosed picture to see what you think.

How could anyone resist this little angel?? The puppy is cute and the photo is excellent-- everything that could be right about it... composition, lighting, exposure, sharpness, cute puppy-- is right. Does the little guy have a name yet?
