Hello Ed, I need your help, you are a master on this.... I've to dao some backstage pictures for some young dancers. I did a test yesterday (another dance backstage) with a Neopan 1600. I developed it in PMK 1:2:100 for 12 min at 70°F. I had a well balanced film (shadows and lights) but it was very very very grainy. You often work with Neopan, what do you suggest me for these situations (low light, many movements) for 35mm and also medium format? Which combination of film/developer you prefer for these backstages (few artificial lights)?
Thanks a lot in advance
Bye
GG

How do you get perfect exposures with film? This shouldn't be possible :) I call you master.

Reply to David: It was taken with natural light. I was backstage during a daytime dance concert and I found wonderful light from large windows and doorways. The girls were waiting for their turn onstage, and I really didn't pose them, I just found spots with good light and waited until someone filled that space. I will post a few more from the series in the next few days.

Wunderbar. I was of two minds about the second ballerina flitting by behind, thinking she isn't necessary but now I think she is. A stately and glowing portrait of the (misplaced?) confidence of youth.

wow what a strong pose and character. Excelent portrait. I really like the other kid running by in the background. Its a nice contrast to the rock solid serious expression.
Just out of interest, did you set this up with lights or is that more a snapshot?
