Toni, I took these with the self-timer to avoid camera shake. Shutter speed for the abstract: 5 or 10 seconds (it was one of the first ones I took. I think it was 5 seconds but can't be sure); For the rose 15 seconds. White Balance set to Tungsten mode. ISO 50. I tried it first at 400 ISO which is as high as this camera goes but decided 50 was better because I thought it picked up less of the background. Exposure compensation was unavailable in this mode. What a great effect...now the trick is to draw a picture with the light...lol..just kidding. You could have loads of fun with this using both arms and different types of lights for instance. I'd love to know your settings.
