This beach is inaccessible until the tide is fully out, and only then by a steep walk down some steps cut into the huge cliffs. I had to wait halfway down the steps for at least an hour, while mighty waves crashed over this very point. It was a race for sunset ? would the tide retreat enough to enable a sunset shot from the beach? As soon as the tide had retreated enough and there was a break in the waves I leapt from the steps and onto the rocks at the top of the beach. It was a truly amazing feeling to be the first person to walk on these sands this very evening. As the tide retreated yet further I took a number of different exposures, including this one. The sunset didn?t really show itself, but that didn?t matter. The scene was magical already, and that evening will remain in my memory for a very long time.
