I own too many cameras (Sigh.) This week, I'm carrying my Rollei 35S in my briefcase / canvas bag. The Kiev 35a is the most pocketable of my cameras. The rolleis are hard to beat, as far as lens quality is concerned.

Yeah, I have heard about the "light leaks", but never experienced any with mine. It's a funky little camera. If I didn't have an Olympus XA, I would probably use the Kiev more frequently. Both are about the same size, and then there's my Rollei 35 which lenswise, puts the other two to shame. But, having said all that, I was quite pleased with the photos from my Kiev.

I do like the Kiev. In spite of the reputation of the Kiev 35a for light leaks, and the fact that this photo had a light leak, I'm not convinced that THIS was one of THOSE light leaks. I'd never had that problem with this camera before, and I had loaded this film in more than one camera (1st camera did not advance; switched to Kiev; after 8 exposures transferred the roll to another camera.) I'm pretty sure the leak is not a Kiev 35a leak.

Daniel - so how do youlike your Kiev35a? I have not shot mine in some time. Never had any light leaks in mine.
