Yes, the stabiliser works VERY well! :-) This afternoon Robert borrowed the Z3 to take some shots of a finch and when we viewed the images, he exclaimed once again how impressed he is with the zoom function. NO purple fringeing, no abberation. I use the macro and super macro settings a lot and my hands really shake - most of my images are fine, except for those spoiled by too harsh sun or a breeze moving the flower. I do like the Z3 - quick start up, very quiet and easy to handle.
I strongly suggest that you visit a photography shop and test "shoot" and then download in the shop to see for yourself.
