About This is the Jinmao Hyatt, located inside the Jinmao Tower, tallest building in Shanghai at 88 floors. The hotel takes up floors 54 to 87. I took these photos from the 87th floor and what you see at the bottom is a restaurant/piano bar on 56. Elevators are in the glass enclosure at rear. Really an attractive and unique place. Back in October, I took these same photos from the observation deck on the 88th floor but there was some nasty plexiglass in my way and the reflections ruined it all. After that, I discovered the Cloud Nine bar, had some expensive snacks, and then strolled over to take these photos.

All photos were bracketed and use of a tripod was impossible, due to the angle and the fact that I had to hang over the edge to get the shots. As a result, I took a lot of shots that were ultimately deleted due to camera shake.

thanks for the useful hint at the beanbag alvin. I'll keep that in mind next time I can't use a tripod when I need one.

Great angle looking down @ the restaurant/bar, an abstract like composition. Image is sharp & crisp, you braced yourself well for the shot, well done James, kind regards.

This is very interesting composition. You are very observant. For the camera shake, may I suggest to use a bean bag? You can lean it over the rail and it works as good as a tripod. Even when I use a tripod now, I just put the bean bag over the tripod and camera on the bag. It works well for shots up to 4 seconds. Haven't tried anything longer than that cos my D70 doesn't do long exposure well (noise).

The architecture is amazing, very creative and means that they spend a lot of monye to build it,.... but... due to the circular layout of the floor plans I find it difficult to take a picture considering the rectangular frame of the camera... BUT YOU DID A GREAT, GREAT JOB.!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
