Lida, I thought you might enjoy this little story about ballet shoes, since you just put this up. Two weeks ago I was invited to judge a photo competition at my girls' elementary school (they weren't entered in it). The 1st place winner for 4-5th grades had photographed shoes on point like yours. The theme was "a different kind of hero." Her statement read that she felt that ballet was a hero in her life because of what it meant to her. I was told that she had no help and prodded her mother into getting the shoot set up for her so she could execute her idea. Of course, the picture was not on the level of this one, but it was beautiful. When I look at your picture, I can't help but think of the little girl (who I have never met). T.
