This is sunday afternoon practice, Blue card behind, Plastic under to catch reflections. Window light to one side. Taken as a learning exercise. Oh yeah, nearly forgot..water drops
this is "drop out blue" (got its name from the movie sets) and it definitely does not work for a background unless you're gonna drop it out and replace it...the glasss and feel of the glass is lost in this color it would be used if the glasses were full and with something else and it was to be as I said pulled...not bad for a rendition of glass as it is a difficult subject...
The blue works fine for me, I like the tight crop the only thing that you might want to try is using large white reflectors to control the shape of the white highlights. Try reflectors of different shapes and see what happens.
Kevin, I understand the concept, or at least what I percieve it as. I would like to see the same type of shot with a darker backboard. I lose some of the detail in the glass which is laying down due to the transparency of the glass.
