Thank you Glenn for your kind words...This photo was taken at that nice little art community in downtown Sarasota. If you have not been there, you really should make a point of visiting it. The artists live right there, in beautiful little cottages and with their studio in the home. If you ever need directions let me know....Gloria

I'm inclinded to agree with Bill Mahler. I wouldn't dream of cropping someone else's picture, but especially not one of yours. You're too good. The blurry tree on the left only makes the fence seem sharper and makes it more compelling that we actually go through that gate. Your own first instinct will always yield the best result. As you have proven here.

Gloria I love this composition. It is an everyday there all the time image, mostly not noticed how lovely it is. You have captured it beautifully, I read comment from Dave and reply from yourself. I'm afraid it is a pretty quick effort, but I have done a bit of cloning and a very slight crop, I hope youlike it. Margaret

Gloria - the crop is fine, considering the aesthetic restrictions you encountered. This gate must be full length and the out of focus tree really doesn't bother me that much.
Yes, the colours could have more punch to it, but the image as you have it now, has a soft and friendly feel to it.
Well seen.
Linn

i like the crop suggestion. i also think it's a little overexposed, hence the more washed-out look to the colors. keep at it :)

Simple ,but beautiful with lovely attraction. A tight crop wont improve anything rather spoiling the image, although the trunk out of focus, prefer as it is.Saeed

I rather like the blur of the tree, a rough texture and blasé coloured vantage point to lush green delight beyond the gate. Just as the walkway is concrete and changes to wood on the other side of the gate. To me, the contrast is the point. The lone red flower invites you in.

Well Gloria .... maybe the tree could go ..... but the print full length looks great... just as is. Full garden gate .. with red flower. Marcio just didn't know any better .. to chop your image up. .. he'd best tend to his own site. His idea of this photograph cropped his way .. must be his way of being funny and gives insight to other issues as well.
Warm Regards ........ Bill

Thank you Dave...and I know just what you mean..unfortunately a few steps to the right, brought into view part of the house that was not so attractive. I played with the image, by trying to crop the tree out, but did not have much luck.

Excellent colors, good composition. The only thing that bugs me is the out of focus tree on the left edge. Could you have stepped to the right a little?
