The balance of flash and daylight is great. The sheen on the skin is lushcious. I just noticed the water ripples reflected on the thigh.

Hiya Phil. I use a Sigma EF-500 DG Super Flash.
It's a really good and powerful tilt and swivel flash for a lot less than the Canon Speedlites. I used it with its built-in diffuser at 1/4 power.
I must tell you I had many better shots but I am extremely disappointed at the Mark II's focusing capabilities. Half of my shots in almost complete darkness were out of focus whereas my old 10D never missed... :-(
The camera almost ruined the photoshoot...

Question. Did you use a ring flash here? I like it's stunning quality but was it actually as dark as the background suggests? I'm really curious about flash at the moment.
