Hi Paul, have enjoyed visiting your portfolio, this shot took my fancy, while the colors and textures in the brickwork are appealing and wondering who's lives happened behind those windows is engaging, I am thinking this would also make a fine black and white shot, what do you reckon? good work and thank you for your comment on 'hesitate', cheers, david.

The lines on this are excellent - the horizontal and the zig-zag. The colors are wonderful and very interesting with the brick and the molding against the black stairs. Great shot.

Dear Paul, beautiful geometric shot. You have the stairs, shadows, and then the character of the not so new brick wall and building. Really good work and good eye - Fantastic ! Mark

Nice play on shadows and textures. I wouldn't straighten the horizontals because they appear slightly curved due to the wide angle lens used.

Ah, here's one that looks much better than the thumbnail... the different textures--warm brick, cold slate, ironwork, and the play of light and shadow make this a fascinating image. I'm afraid I couldn't have resisted straightening the horizontals, though. It's the one thing that gives me pause...

Thanks Thilo, well I was going to mention about the tilt..the image is straight but parts of the building are not :) I was debating if I should straighten the tilt but decided to keep it as it was photographed. I did crop the sky but did not want to lose the top of the building, guess if I tilted the image to the left I could crop the rest of the sky.

Beautifully centered. Great shadow lines. I especially like they way you picked up the shadow on the window fan on the middle floor.

well done, paul. love the different shadows and their alternating geometry. At first look you cannot decide what's a real stair and what's a shadow. good work, and interesting lighting. minor thing for me: looking for the perfect horizon. I would tilt the image a tad to the left and crop the small piece of sky. great one anyway. cheers, thilo

Thanks Biliana, the reason the walls look so yellow is because of the sun light...
