About A modern Japanese chemist's shop. The young lady is trying to read all the competitive claims and offers. The exposure here was a compromise; the range was obviously too wide for complete success...

Thank you, Tabitha, I'm glad you like them. I seldom get away from Tokyo, but one thing it has plenty of is colourful streets and shops, so I don't lack for subject matter. The Fuji film I use has very good colours, and is particularly good with artificial light and mixtures of different kinds of light. I don't know how they do it, but I like the results. It's one of the things that keeps me shooting film--that and the fact I have half-a-dozen film cameras...

Paul, it was exactly that about the young woman and the setting that made me snap her. I'm so glad that someone spotted this. Also I've been taking quite a few shots of people shopping, and this looked as if it would fit in. As you can see, it made one third of a triptych!

interesting photo.. busy but not distracting.. so much to pick out of this photo.. the colors are great. the shopper seems to be loaded down with bags and headset yet still is engaged in reading the signs. Very typical of the modern world where we are doing so many things at the same time. This image conveys the modern everyday life very well.. good work

Thanks Roger, looks like Sunday is now the 'almost' confirmed date for the trip. I'll make every effort to check up on him for you.

Keith, your comments are always welcome! As a matter of fact, though, I first cropped the shot much as you suggested, compared it with this (full-frame) version, and decided I preferred the latter. But then I do like to "get everything in," so it may be my preference showing rather than any particular merit. I felt the "Chanel" on the white panel at the top helped to make the shot more intelligible. The address you want is Pastor K.B.Edison, Hebron Church, No.7, Pushpa Nagar Main Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai-34 (Tel. 2817-0007/2817-2020) Don't know if those two numbers are tel and fax or what. He is a very fine man! He hasn't replied to a recent E-mail so I hope he's OK.

Hir Roger, of the three this is the least appealing to me. You know I like a good strong composition, and this one .... well to be honest I struggle with this. There are things creeping into frame on the left and the box has just been clipped on the right. I would lose about an inch at the top to get rid of the big white signs as I don't see them adding anything significant.

Ouch - that sounds really brutal doesn't it. I am sorry, but I feel I know you well enough now to be able to speak my mind.

Regards

Keith

Tons of stuff to interest the eye; good, natural colour; and excellent exposure ~ all-in-all the standard ingredients of any R.W. picture!
Nice to see you uploading again Roger.
Best regards, Chris

Wow technology, fashion, drugs, modern marketing, mass merchandizing and cultural diversity all rolled into one image.

You did well managing the dynamic range here/ Looking forward to seeing you Pano shots
