Hello Jocelyn,
I liked the first one as well, but this closer crop appeals to me even more. I think because it totally focuses on the flower without any distraction whatsoever.
I like the way you caught the glowing color of the petals by shooting it from behind with light coming through the petals themselves. The off-center and diagonal composition is perfect for my taste.
I wish I could suggest something as an improvement, but nothing comes to mind at the moment - I'd certainly be happy to hang this one on my walls!
