This is a magical image. The long exposure softened the water so that it looks almost ethereal. The light perfectly highlights the rocks for an interesting, evocative photograph. Just beautiful!

That is really stunning. I tried cropping as per Mark's suggestion and while to me it didn't hurt the image, I didn't see that it improved it either. Very mysterious, lovely colours.

The top and bottom could be cropped just a wee bit more. I'm mostly drawn to the water line where all the action is with the light, water and rocks. Could this be what Mars looked like millions of years ago?

Ingrid,
One of the things which Monet, Renoir, and Matise did was to throw away their black paint, they did not like the way it dulled the colors. Maybe they should have seen your black and white work. Very good shot. Very good composition. The tonal range is wonderful with the black blacks and hint of brilliant whites. the softness of the water surrounding the stones just "sets" this one off. Keep experimeting and trying new things. Minute changes seem to really work for you. thanks for sharing this with us!
