The lighting for this is good, but it depends on what type of portrait you're trying to do. Normally with a close up shot like this, the lighting is a little softer, and often from several sources rather than one. You can tell what kind of lighting was used by the highlights in the person's eyes, what angle and how large the highlights are. The lighting in this portrait reminds me for some reason of something taken in the early 50's, which i admire anyway. Its different and not everyone does it anymore. For what its worth, i like it, and i think you did a goodjob. We as photographers will always be trying different things, never be afraid to try something new. Welldone-corrie
