your exposure was great...details in the feathers show and the snow is well exposed too...wish for a bit more light in the eye...a good composition and a good capture

Spot on exposure, each feather is highlighted really well, and the snow is perfect. Did you have an ND grad on the lens at the time, there appears to be just a hint of darkening towards the top of the frame, making the head and face appear to be shadowed.

Jim, this is so beautiful, even though it's not a to good environment for swans. They should really go south, it's just that people started to give them food in winter so lately they stay instead. But many of them dies of the cold and gets stuck in ice etc.
Anyway, a wonderful capture! Beautiful swan and so nice and crispy snow!
