About Bloody time... Goes so fast! Is it REALLY Christmas soon again? Is time going faster than it used to, or does it just feel like that the older we get? Did our parents feel that time went so fast when we (the kids) were moaning that the time between our birthdays was soooooooooo extremely long?
BLOODY TIME!

Ps. I coloured the photo red in ps. Because colours in Sweden are gray and so boring this time a year.

Hi, Kristina, I was wondering yesterday night: why do people take always B&W or sepia photos from tree silhouettes scenes?
Indeed, I posted this suggestion to my friend and partner Marcio Costa (http://www.usefilm.com/image/316683.html.)I decided to do something like this with some pic?s I?ve taken last weekend..
Now, I?ve come to your portfolio and... there it was!
Brilliant! Hot! Oustanding!
Congrats!
Thank you for your comments about my work.

You can colour me red anytime... hahaha... LOVELY photo - you know, being in Los Angeles, you'd think there'd be lots of colours - there isn't. It's mostly dusty brown or greyish - because everything gets covered by the SMOG!!!! Hahahaa... but this RED you have.... exquisite. Do you have it colour you can show me?

Thankyou, Olov! It's about 30 km outside Stockholm, quite close to where I live. Perhaps I should go back there now when it's snow and ice on the water and take a real winter shot.

Real nice photo Kristina! These kind of dark, not very happylooking photos of dark skies and black trees appeal a lot to me.

Wow! Maybe i prefer the original version with natural colors, but i like very much also this one... IMHO would be better with a little crop in the right for remove the branches... maybe a little distracting... However good one!

Beautiful work. The reds make a strong statement. I first thought you may have used a red filter til I noticed the orginal you posted. Both are very nice but I do like the red a little more it is such an attention getter.

Graham Mulrooney   {K:15728} 1/4/2004
Very original and great use of the red which gives this image real impact. Love the texture on the water.
Not sure but I think I would have cropped the bottom 1.5cm off the image for greater impact.

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 12/22/2003
Hi Kriss, thank you again for your words. So nice to see you before the holidays.

So you own a car without winter wheels in Sweden? You see me grin...

Ok, here in Germany near Frankfurt we have less snow than the people in Saudi-Arabia I guess and even when there is snowfall for around an hour, it will be salted away immediately....(ok, I am just jealous for your snow....jeust jealous...)

Nevertheless, I hope you will find a way to your flight in time and will enjoy your trip to England. Have a great time there - and always wherever you are.

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 12/22/2003
Hi Kriss, great to see you again for a while. That's again a great one indeed, even the color version. Time ist what you make it of...sometimes bloody, sometimes cruel, sometimes healing. But it goes on and on and on...

Thank you for your time this year, thank you for all your lovely words and thank you for sharing your pictures. I wish you a merry and not grey christmas, fun and joy for you and your family and I hope intensively to meet you again next year.

Greetings from Germany, Uwe :-))

John Lamb   {K:9687} 12/21/2003
Great impact Kristina. Isn't Photoshop great for adding your own creativity to your images. It would be interesting to find out if photographers warm up the colours in their photos when it's wet, cold and grey outside?

Thank you for your comments on my images. I try to capture the light on the landscape. Sometimes things come together and the light is perfect, other times you really have to work to get a good image. I find some of the best times here in the South Island of New Zealand is when we have wild weather.

Best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Regards John

Kristina...you are so right about time and I have more than 20 years on you...it doesn't slow down...only the body ...

I love the toning in this beautiful landscape...red for Christmas...gives it some snap...know what you mean about gray, though...been that way for days here too...in "Sunny California"...how about trying to warm it up with some gold or browns too...might give it an altogether different feel...BTW...gray or not, the original is beautiful

Wohooo! So many comments! Thankyou all, they really make me happy! :-)) Yes, this was taken with my new camera, a couple of weeks ago.

Fabio, I think I can live with any colour to this shot and I like your choice, but the foreground feels a little bit dark maybe. It might be just my screen, I don't know, but there are not so much details there of those lines of "start freezing" water.

Merry Christmas to you all!

The landscape is wonderful and the strong and particular toning is especially fitting your comment!!! A bloody good photo, Kriss! :) Is this with the new G5? This is a creative idea to transform and invigorate the original photo. I like the very dramatic colour wash, looks a bit like the end of the world. Sinister tones but the reflections and clouds are still beautiful. It would also be interesting to see some duotone variations.

Hallo Kristina! Welcome back! ....and you are back with one of the ebst shots EVER! Unbelievably! My BIG congratulations for this! It is also a great shot with the natural colours however this ''bloody'' toning is nice and gives more originality and more artistic view to your shot. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! :) My best regards and have great Xmas!

David Yates   {K:4698} 12/20/2003
I like the coloration- the original piture was good but a bit mundane, but with this you've made a statement.

And yes, time is going faster and faster, so maybe the long dark winter nights in the north country are not such a bad thing, for perhaps they slow time down just a little.

Keep shooting and experimenting, and stay warm.

Regards, David

Your absolutely right Kristina, time is going faster and faster the older we get.
