That improvement on the bottom certainly works well Neil. Although dark it can easily be seen and makes the eye look harder for the detail. Amazed you managed to recover so much extra detail.
I always think that the whole of an image should be used. If it's not, like an overexposed sky it should be cropped.

Hi Graham,
S'right my friend you have.. took your advice and tweaked the levels a little though.. lowered the contrast and let in a little more detail at the base.. Feel kind of better about it now than what I was.. Thanks

Excellent composition. I like the b&w here, it works very well in this image. The ground flour is a bit dark, but overall an excellent photo!
