About Shot with a polarizer and a 2-stop ND grad, hand as lens shade, on tripod. Back to posting mountains. This is the postcard location for this very recognizable icon of Banff. I decided to shoot this in back light to make a different image. Location: Vermillion Lakes, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Simply breathtaking.
The filter, lighting and your ingenous use of your hand has produced a picture as lovely as the Canadian Rockies. Makes me want to visit again.
Congrats

Kenneth,

Another Great One!!! But you dont need me to tell you that. Great eye for detail and all the technical stuff. another wall hanger in my humble opinion.

Beautiful colors and properly exposed for a backlit photo. I find the white reflections at the lower left a little distracting though. If the bottom was cropped to remove them, or even half of them, in my opinion it improves the picture.

I really like the colors from the mountain down. The sky is a bit over exposed in my opinion, but like you said it is a different shot here. Backlighting is tough to make work. This one does have a dramatic feel to it all. Good job Ken...as always.

another good one, and as usual, you nailed the technicals. nice scene. A little different, in that the mountain is more background and less subject matter.

I love the blues.

It's really interesting (well, at least to me it is!) how important blue is to your images. It's ingrained in every one of them. It's not always the same blue, but it's invariably the color anchor in your photos that provides a lot of the color strength. And it's not just because the sky and water are often blue...I've seen other photographers (myself included) where blue isn't as dominant.
