Altaf and Howard,
I am myself learning in the process... I did not suggest against the square format of the picture. I was trying to position the diagnol line differently. I would apprciate if you give some more details cropped version... Thanks a lot.

Jon,
I personally like the main image more than the crop below simply because it has a greater sense of space. I tend to like some images square and this is definately one of them. You should really put this into the abstract project category.

The revision shown in Elangovan S's comment does indeed improve the impact, in my opinion.

I agree, moving the roof lines down gives a more dynamic picture. Yes rule of thirds does apply. Your question on why rule of thirds works in my opion is because man is a preditor. His eyes point forward like the eyes of all preditors. Any movement from the side, from above or below indicates that you've possibly moved from being a preditor to being prey. Your vision is more sensitive to movement in the outer third quadrant of your field of view. Anything in this area will be given attention because of the chance of it being a threat. Your mind has evolved to look to these areas.

I agree with Howard. He is talking about rule of thirds. Most often, we avoid symmetry to make the picture more dynamic. Of course, it does not mean that we wont take symmetrical shot. I dont know the history of the rule of thirds.
Perhaps, this photo would have been great if the bluer diagonal lines start from the left side rather than the left-top corner. Perhaps something as attached. Your thought is absolutely welcomed. Thanks.
Other than that, Lovely color and texures.

My first instinct (for lack of a better word) was that the bottom could have been cropped to make the diagonal intersect both corners. I would gladly learn why that wouldn't work though. Nice picture Jon.

Not sure why it doesn't work. Will play with it in PS and see if I can find a better crop. I guess it's the engineer in me that placed it at 45 deg. in the corner.

I agree with Howard about the high quality of this shot but I'm curious about not liking the intersection point. I'm still learning and wonder why this doesn't "work"? Any idea?

Nice strong abstract. I wish that the diagonal didn't precisely intersect the uper left corner, however.
