I'd keep that in my (Veterinarian) office too! Great shot! Oscar deserves an Oscar for the performance & nasal observation :-)!!

Kevin. I'm liking Oscar a lot. Great low angle, I like the DOF. We don't wanna see all the detail of him just that big wet snout and for that reason I reckon the focus is spot on too.

So does he go walkabouts up May Hill then?!

I think you've been rated well on this as it's a good 6/7 all round.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi, Kevin. Pet pictures are so common and overlooked by some, I have heard because they're often the most available subject. It's therefore difficult to get one that is unique. This one you got of Oscar, however, I would definitely classify as unique. Few take pains to change the angle of their shot, and I've found that a tiny bit of extra effort to alter point of view can make a drastic difference for a shot. So, good job on the angle and perspective. I'm a little uncertain about the point of focus, whether or not it would be any better having focused on the eyes, where the viewer's eyes are typically drawn first. Nonetheless, I like this shot. I'd certainly be proud to hand it on my office wall.

Funny shot! I think the shallow DOF works just fine for this.

Nice perspective! What is he thinking about? I would prefer a bit more depth of field though.

ha ha! nice wide angle! at first I thought it might be better if his head wasn't cropped, but after looking at it enlarged, I'm not sure. Either way, this is a great shot. =)
