Greetings Pilgrim,
I love the lighting in this shot, The way it travels down the back of the bird and highlights the tail. Not to mention the back light of his crown feathers. Just beautiful. For me this is a very elusive bird to get a good shot of and I only see them at dusk and before a snow storm. Fine capture.

inserting alternative wooden perch,
so subject in direct light,.

Thanks art. Yes I used the SB-900 flash but
it was a good ways off. Pretty much right in front of the camera. I was happy with the results, would have liked to gotten a tad more
details in the face however. For some reason
Im not getting the flash to fire any father
away from the camera. Maybe because of he sun light. Not sure. Will have to invest on some
pocket wizards.....lol
