Wow. That seems rude, "Sunset". You have a right to your opinion, but what was your goal with that comment? Clearly, that's not a critique. You didn't mention what you liked, what you didn't like or even how you thought it might be improved. You ask the photographer what HE wanted? I'm curious what you wanted when you made that comment?

There is a school of contemporary landscape photography that insists that the camera should capture what it there -- not just isolate the pretty picture. This picture fits nicely into that school of thought -- it has not been made artificially pretty but captures the sense of life and energy that exist in that place at that time. I like it!

Dear Saad,
This man sweared he would kick me out from UF and made me so many problems and was so many times rude and impolite with me, he was harsh not only with me but with so many other fine photographers and people on this site ... but, we all here on UF have our hearts and our friendship and just as txules said ... we would not maybe be remembered by our photographs but we would all have what he would never have and he would never be able to find out what is this and what this means ...
So my friend, just ignore him, he is not worth ... he is a bitter and lonely man and you are not !!! I just feel sorry for him. And I do respect you and your way of expressing through photography !!!

Dear Saad I love honest critic but fair and hate rudeness comments
all, I repeat all in this forum are just trainees in the world of photography, most of our pictures are just snapshots and we should accept it, we have some pictures are just fine and we should deal with it, we both are doctors and for sure good doctors, that's what it matters
as Harry said we must remain humble, nobody will remember us as a good photographers but we all have our little heart:)
keep going dear Saad and do not give a step back

This takes me back to my all-to-brief time in Turkey in 1972-3, and to the wonderful ferry, and the tires hanging in the water, the diverse activites visible on the shore, and Gulhane Park, and the water-sellers. Thanks for this shot, for me, redolent with memories. Regards, Mike

very well understood Sir,we have some fine similar sayings,
it was unprovoked false accusations .
and I admit ,he was able to provoke me.
but me as your friend , and as all my other friends are watching ,I will be glad to tell you this story,so you may informed more about you friend.
I have received his envy reply ,I read it,and surprised so much,I have stayed all the time some distance from him,just my precaution.
I have repeat its reading ,my images being snap is never make me angry,all the images by definition are snaps,here or every where,only very minority are not,they are well prepared for.
all of a sudden I have received an other email,from Photo.net telling me that one of my images have been chosen as the photo of the week,and that was an honour that I have not even dreamed of.I give it a little thought,it is the the heaven that have chooses me, and I have to figure why,OH !!! now I get it,just to throw it in his face.
that is why my friend I have responded as such,me as I follow faith in my life have to act in that way.

Dear Stan,me and mostly all of my friends,are never pretended to be such Pro in the field of photography,snap shots are my proud when a lot of peoples like them ,and about or more than 90% of the images in this and all other site are snaps,what is the shame ???? absolutely non, but the false accusations that based on nothing ,a more righteous statement ,it was the unprovoked false accusation that was so annoying.

I like this shot much, it's dynamic and simply showing the way to spend free time. Fishing guys, the kid sliding from the hill and the couple (about which, I regret a bit the the tree hides them but also it gives them some touch of intimacy so maybe no need to regret...). Very vivid and in fine colors, nice composition! It's a moment captured, and a very well chosen moment.
Dear Saad, I even didn't know about the awards on other photo sites (congrats!) but it's enough to have a look here into your portfolio at UF to find plenty of images which many other people could only envy...
When the critique is not based on meaning well but it's just a knock without a particular reason, all you can do is ignore, altough I know sometimes it's hard.

Often a 'Snap Shot' is all a person needs. There is something to be said about sharing a moment of life with the world that others may not appreciate. It is not always about clever and manipulated photographs. There is life in the image. There is life in the intent. A slice of life means more to me than say.... a black and white photo of things that are really in color. Many times people shoot in B/W because they think B/W is “artsy”… when often it is just maudlin. Often people shoot B/W because they are trying to present something fresh and inventive but cannot come up with anything clever and original. There is a place for B/W… but that day has passed… 80 years ago.

My friend... In America we have a saying, "Take the high road." It means to say nothing to those who have anger and envy. Please... remember this. Your friends understand... take the high road. Also we have the saying, "The eagle does not hunt the fly." When a person makes a comment on my photo that is unfair... I just ignore them.

When it is your moment of capture then it becomes more than a snap shot. If you watch the scene become your image captured then you have found what you have seen. We all bring a view to the table to share among our friends. I think some people are just above us because of their self imposed arrogance. Congrats on your success away from the UF vacuum!! Personally I like the kid sliding on the cardboard. Just another day in Turkey!!
