Well for the time being it is oil platform free, unfortunately I think it is only a matter of time before this landscape begins to suffer the same fate as others in the pursuit fuel for the human machines.

Well... I was hoping it was not a Oil platform. (I hope the God of Geophysics did NOT hear me - I make my living analyzing Geophysical data that ultimately indicate them where to drill).
I will make my New Year commitments to visit those places one day (when it's not too cold) and buy a shirt. :)

The platform on the horizon is a private yacht that was waiting for their turn to visit the Port Lockroy gift shop. I'm not kidding, I bought a couple t-shirts.

Amazing landscapes. Very impressive colors. A great combination of harsh and lifeless nature with the peaceful image of the white snow. I am curious about that platform in the Sea, too, specially since I am a Geophysicist.
Anyways, thanks for sharing a bit this escape from the "ordinary".
