Dear Hussam,

I am happy to receive your enthusiastic comment, but it really does not help me towards improving my work. Please do not misunderstand me, but I would appreciate it a lot if you write a smaller and more meaningful critique.

best regards always, my friend.

Obscure the "ghosts"... but how? Good idea in the theoretical parts of it, and just because of thos you put me into deep doubts.. Obscure ghosts, he says.. But they *are* already ghosts, so how to obscure them?

Avi, you have a very nice and a very hard property for me! You state things that are good for a puzzling beyond all trusty boundaries, you know that? There he goes and simply says "obscure the ghosts"!! ;-)

Cheers!

See that, see that!!! I have a similar one, Avi, but yours is much better. I think that except the general view of "rectangles in a rectangle) the grain-like look adds a good touch of "aged" appeal, which then goes hand in hand with the "ghosts of the past". Still I wonder how to make those ghosts even more noticeable.... Any clue of what could be done in addition? I ask because I think that there is much more potential in such images but I didn't find it until now. :-(

Cheers!

Nick

past=vast ocean of memories left behind/void..sheta bojhanor jonne otota negative space rakha...and the pictures=ghosts.....khub shundor story telling....and the framed pictures give me a feel as if they are crawling towards the upper part to fill up that void...as a story telling picture this is brilliant...but IMHO, negative space-ta arektu(just a little bit) kom rakhle parte...just a personal opinion.. :)

Very nice study dear Avi, the weight at the bottom of the layout gives a sense of stability and immutable balance; like deeply saturated wood, sinks to the bottom of the lake. The mood is old and has the spirit of relics to be discovered. Great shot my friend!!!!

Cheers!

Hi Avi, I like the atmosphere created by the open space on top, giving it a sense of timelesness. The contrast and grain further enhance the atmosphere. Very creative work!

Thanks very much, Aline. Well, I usually try to think differently and avoid the cliche when I am composing a shot in my mind (or in front of me, with my eyes).. maybe that's what you see.

About the noise, I added it, to give it an old film-like effect, to go with the mood and story I am trying to tell here.

cheers,
Avi

phenomenal minimalistic work Avi,
it feels like the canvas sinking, with 'all the faces in the mirror', never willing to stop dropping- and thus giving room to a shapeless formation eternal white- eternal wash away--- ghost indeed,

brilliant work Avi,
v.

very interesting, actually love the large empty room because adds a lot of tension; distorsion, noise and softness makes a strange picture which i love it;
excellent....txules

Once again, giving a short look at the recent pictures, your catch my eyes. Where does come from your smart and sharp eye ?
Just a low POV and a semi framing, and it makes all the difference.
I would like to know why you choosed noise, and if you added it on post-process. On my mind, it adds some mistery and softness to the picture, in harmony with this gallery of remembrance.
Sorry for my english.

Wonderful... have you ever seen the movie "Dead Poet's Society" ? There is a scene where the teacher makes the students look at images of long past students and whispers, "Carpe Diem..." while they take it all in... That one moment is worth watching the entire movie.
