I did. Looking at what you did, I feel that my suggestion of 15% may have been a little less.. I pumped it up to 30, and then used the layer mask.. see what I got:

Dear GG,
Your red is immaculate. but the picture has a bit too warm tone for my liking. If you are not against using PS, I would suggest using a layer with a 15% Cooling Filter, and then masking the parts outside the petals.
