Hi, Kim. Nice to se you posting here! I rather like the composition of this one, but the lack of sharpness and DOF distract me somewhat. I think you've got a great idea, but it could use some added technical work. Colors are good and I like the way you have framed it. Regards!
I'm not sure if it's the scan or not, but the image seems to be very soft. I have a bad scanner and I know how easily it can ruin decent shots. If you have PhotoShop try the Unsharp Mask in the filters. Sharpen it until it looks almost too sharp and when it's uploaded it should look sharp. As for sizing your picture, either in scanning or in editing choose the pixels in length and width that you want. Just because the max is 640x 640 doesn't mean that you have to go that big. The pastel colours are nice here, and I'm always amazed at how the ice behaves in these situations... very interesting! Just need to work on the sharpness!
