An instantly recognizable image for me Brigitte.
One of my all time favourite movies. I'm glad you went with a nice gloomy B&W image for this one. Most of us who have seen this film will never forget the scene this church was in. A classroom of panicked kids running from the blackbirds and crows. I like the fact that you got the church with those clouds in the background. Also, you got it from a similar angle that it was seen in the film.
Nice job on this one.

Hi Brigitte, both images are fine, but for old buildings I prefer black and white, and in this case, there isn't a lot of colour anyway, so you don't lose much by desaturating it. Further, black and white can sometimes make a stronger impression... as we see here. I'd shoot an image with a nice blue sky in early morning if the chance ever presented itself, that would make a nice photo given the colour of the church.
I miss these old buildings with nice clean lines and orderly structure. Things aren't built like that here in China, there's a more haphazard approach to construction. I like both, but miss seeing this kind of architecture.

Well you could have shot it @ 1/500 with ISO 200, or 1/125 with ISO 100 to reduce the grain. Understanding the coloration between ISO, shutter speed and your f/stop is a bit confusing...
It's really easy though! If you change 1 the other two change!

Great moody photo! It works in color as well, but the black and white gives it just a bit more drama. Nice job on the composition too!

A good and balanced composition, Brigitte, and that foes for the lighting too. The latter has introduced the necessary "darker" look and feel that fits your subject very well. The church stands in good contrast, especially against the black trees at its left, and carries a lot of good details for enhancing its main role here.
But why did those Moivre patterns appeared on the tower right under the top of the church? From what I can see they were not there on the original. At the same time, both on the B&W and also on the original, the contour regions of the top of the tower or the roof of the church both show much more noise than for the example the rest of the sky. This noise doesn't appear on the contour regions of the vertical walls of the church. So, what happened here? Did resizing/sharpening/smoothing introduced those artefacts?
Still a very good work!
