Kingshuk, you are a very good photographer. This shot tells us a great story and is a tremendous piece of journalism. I like the use of the wide lens also to give a distorted look to the little girl's face. Because it is meant to be so, it is NOT MEANT to be a pretty face. It is a face that portrays hardship. So, all in all, this is an excellent endeavour.
My only nitpicking on this would be your excess use of the sharpening. It has left a distinct halo around the girl.
