I know what you mean -- I've become a complete digital convert. I tried to add you to my friends list, but something got messed up with my donor status. I sent copies of my PayPal receipt to UF, but no response and no fix. If I'm ever able to straighten this out, I'll add you to my list as well. I love this site, but it's frustrating me a bit lately.
Anyway, I hope that we have more photos to compare in the future.

Thank you, Maryanne! Yes, we both were thinking alike - what better way to try out a new lens than at the zoo. I've decided witht he gas prices as high as they are to get a year membership at the zoo so I can really study the animals and really work on my photography skills (it's not as easy as it looks...thank goodness I am not using film and can shoot many pics in order to get the perfect one). I also realized that I am going to need a lens such as your new one to get that "reach" to the animals within their enclosures. And definately something with a larger aperture as some of these animals are quite active. I'm going to add you as a friend so I can keep an eye on the progress with your new lens - so far you seem to be doing quite well with it!

Well, I see you've been to the zoo, too. And with some new camera equipment. I saw some orangutans yesterday, but it's too cold for them to want to be outdoors yet on this coast. You got a great expression and wonderful color.

Thanks so much for looking at my photos and for the kind comments. Yes, I believe this fella was quite content with the warmer weather - the week earlier it was rain, rain, rain. I guess we're all lovin' it! :)
