About One of our photographers from India showed a photo of a small crying child in the street a while ago. He told me that in India some women have to leave their children in the street all by themselves while working. This broke my heart completely. A small child at 2-3 years whoīs totally dependent on the care from a parent all left alone to what? How long will and can we accept that some people needs to do this? What can we do?
These snails reminded me of the fragility of a child and a mother. If I wanted to crush or remove this "babysnail" I could just do it without the "adultsnail" being able to do anything.

I really love this image, Annemette, but the composition could be a lot tighter in my opinion. That diagonal line does nothing for the image and the blown out highlights are nasty. Check out this crop... I think it concentrates the eye far more on the important parts of the photograph...

Sometimes the logic of children can be difficult to deal with or respond to, Urs! Thank you for sharing this story and for reading my aboutsection. I think that in an international forum itīs necessary once in a while to bring up some serious issues because although we canīt change the conditions overnight then art and discussions can bring forth changes in people that spread rings in the water. If merely one abandoned child or one poor mother benefits from this then Iīm happy. Every life counts.
Take care

Nice comment in the about and thought behind the photo. I also think a lot about what I shoot and what I post. Also, often I add words to let others in on my thought process. Nicely done.

A lovely picture in many aspects, Annemette! I like its contrasts its crops and itas colors, and last but not least its story.

I recently saw a 7 years old boy in front of a school house scrumping ants with his feet, wich much noise and one after the other. I went towards him and asked him: "Hey! Why are you doing this?" He answered: "They are so small and ugly, and it is so fun". I answered to him: "Oh ok, would you like it if I would stomp you with my feet, just because you are small and ugly?" He looked at me and answered: "Well, why not? They also killed Jesus, and he died for us!" I was completely "knocked out", did not know what to answer to this 7 years old boy ...

Well to make it short: This is the story I had to think of when I read your "about" to this picture :) Very well done, 7+++. Best wishes, Urs

Great about part.
Maybe in Big and Little would fit better!?

I like the composition, even if instead of this mothersnail was only a big dot, i think it would make it a lovely composition.
Now that i see these two snails, in a vast field, hopless to the hazart from a snailkiller, i sort of agree with the choise of project.
Greenie,
