Nice one Dave! The Jays don't visit my backyard for some reason or other--wish they did. Again, an eye-popping blue!

Very sharp; great result in what looks like a very tricky light situation.

Except for the bird's head with some minor exposure problems, a very well done one in terms of details and colors, Dave. I find the fact surprising that the coloring is there, but it doesn't scream for being looked at!

Good nature photography! And if it is nature, it shouldn't get hypernaturally colored, or should it? ;-)

I find it difficult to get back yard birds to sit still and allow me close enough for a sharp photo. Very well done. I like the detail of the blue in the wings. Del.

I can not get this close to a blue jay, they are so shy, love the color and the way he seems to be calling out. Alison

Hi Tim, thanks for the comment! I know what you mean about the green, although I'm not sure if it's reflection from the surrounding sunlit foliage or the camera's doings.
Dave.

Hi Dave,
Awesome composition! although i find the Fuji injecting a bit to much green in the shadows. Although this my be how my monitors is reading it, opposed to the way it is on your Monitor.

One of the bullies from the back yard, I'll bet. There is always a big war over the peanuts between the Jays and Red Squirrels in our backyard. The little red squirrels usually come out on top.
