hi ben.... you have an interesting portfolio of faces. i see many similar people in my travels aroudn the world as well. shots such as this one you have here are priceless in front of a camera. people who find ways to be happy despite the stresses and burdens life has put on them, or so it seems. maybe expand out a bit and try the photo with some of the surroundings. see how that looks also.
as for asking people to view your portfolio, you might find that if you comment on member's photos, they will retrun the favour automatically. that's what i do.

Ben, I thought I'd take a look at your portfolio, as you suggested. You've got quite an eye for a young man of 18-19! Some excellent pictures, full of pathos and the stuff of life.
I've rediscovered photography as an 'old man' of 45, having bought a digital camera. All the time I'm looking for new angles on things and desperately trying to bring the best out of my photo's using Photoshop. In a busy and demanding job like mine, it's very therapeutic.
Keep enjoying your photography - I think you've got some great moments to come.
Kind regards,
Chris Spracklen

That expression!!! What a great capture! I do have to say that the face is a bit on the flat side (or is that an effect of the slight lack of sharpness?) and I'd prefer a bit more room in the direction he's looking, but the emotional impact is phenomenal!

congrads to my business partner and a prominent member of my photo-team, ben rasmussen (or should i say the only prominent member of my photo team). this photograph captures the beauty of a philippino character. no comments or critique here, i critique your work enough in person, and i appreciate your critique as well. helping us become better photographers (like my new usefilm signature phrase?),

A bit sharper would be perfect but a good capture of a great face. You will find that some people may get annoyed if you ask them to view your portfolio, it was rampant on another site where a lot of memebers here have come from, me being one. Cheers, Darrin

Yes! Good capture! I agree with Larry Roberg (sharp), but no problem. Very good heading, according with image.

The joy in is face is evident, even without all his teeth in place. A good capture, with the hat making an effective background for his face. I wish it were a little sharper, but I think that's a scanner problem .
