About
Could not resist the temptation - wonder who can spot the (endangered) Oystercatcher in this photograph - taken at Skuitbaai, near Plettenbergbaai, on an unbelievably misty day in April
Thanks, Stef and Sylvia, for commenting on this image. Spot-on for finding the oystercatcher! Sylvia, you're absolutely right - my first reaction was to crop out the washing, in fact, I did exactly that, but then I thought it would add a human touch to the solumn scene - something like: if there's washing, there must be people somewhere... Maybe I should have gone with my first interpretation.
Hi Lydia, The Oystercatcher is at the top left hand side behind a rock, you can just see the beak sticking out:) Very nice misty seascape, lovely details on the rocks but I find that the washing hanging outside the house a bit distracting from the natural beauty of the scene, a bit of in-camera cropping or post processing would have improved the ambiance
First of all, lovely shot. It gives you that feeling of mysticism that you get from the sea on a stormy misty day. Secondly, the oystercatcher is sitting behind the top rock on the far lefthand side.
