A beautiful image, Mel. I'll have to pick your brains about HDR when you come back. I must get me one of those reverse grads, too. I could have used one this week. Congrats on your award. Very well deserved.:)

Wow Doyle, you shoot landscapes at f4 and f5.6? I was always of the understanding f/9 was standard for landscapes? Mind you......I don't think I've ever shot one at f/9, but that's only cos I'm contrary.... All the old literature I've been combing through...its like a mantra f/9 and 125.....hmmmm....maybe I just don't know how to shoot landscapes? I'll definitely try f/4 and f/5.6 next! I'm heading overseas in a couple of days time, so hopefully I'll be able to bring back some new shots :) Ciao! Mel

Thanks so much Mel . . . the f/22 for those not yet 'in the know' is counter intuitive to the usual landscape settings of f/4 to f/5.6! It costs a little in contrast but more than makes up for it by giving the beautiful sunrays! Well Done (again)!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~~

Thanks so much everyone.
Doyle I used f/22 and the middle shot was exposed for 1/3 seconds. Manual focus and manual setting, ISO 100 and Auto WB. Focal length was 30mm.
I've attached the jpg straight from the camera, of the middle exposure. Note the horizon and the huge dust bunny!
I shoot raw and jpg, and this was processed with the small jpgs. Only other thing added was a gradient layer to the sky at soft light blend, and opacity dropped. Then dodged along the rock wall and a little on the beach.

I think the high contrast disturb the texture and details ( specially in the sky and clouds ) in this capture. composition: i can't find what is the main subject and idea of photographer in it's combine?the bridge? the man? sunset?or... if it's why the tree no croped, and why a band of beach no croped from the foreground. it could be a very better photo with a better composition indeed. hope to find more by you mel...
