To shoot the picture, I actually put the beans in the bottom of a wine glass and rest the camera on the mouth of the glass to act as a tripod. With this camera you can't use the flash while using the macro feature because the zoom lens produces a shadow over the image. Therefore I had trouble getting enough light.
Looks good, focus is sharp, good dof, the composition might be improved if you pulled back just a bit and showed more beans thus producing a more interesting pattern with the beans. You've got some glare from the flash, this could be reduced by using some sort of diffuser over the flash such as tissue paper, or piece of paper towel or you could try shooting without a flash using a tripod. Other then that I don't know enough about the macro settings on the camera to comment. I would also try some macro shots on different subject matter that might be easier such as flowers.
