Thanks Becky...I really do enjoy shooting so, I suppose it's time I stop looking for recognition and post because it makes me happy, eh? I DID sharpen this a tad after I resized to make the frame around the image. One pass of LAB sharpening after said adjustment. As mentioned above, this is a 100% crop from the left-lower corner of a shot of the whole bouquet. I used my 50mm f1.8 lens which, while being made of plastic...REALLY impresses me with its clarity.

Thanks, Gennaro. This is actually a 100% crop from a shot of the whole bouquet...I liked the detail of the single flower.

Thanks a lot, Dave. I adjusted the corners a little darker after the conversion, but left the tones in the image mostly alone! :-)

Jacob, I am glad you are posting again. I like your presentation of the rose here. It is dramatic in b&w. The dof is good and I like the upper right hand corner of the image that is out of focus. Did you do any sharpening to this?;)

Very well done Jacob. Very good light and exposure, good detail, good sharp focus and very good dof. Very nice dramatic image.
I bought my wife flowers for Valentine's Day and then took them apart to take shots. Maybe next year I should ask her for flowers. :)
